Chance (Year 9)
This module from the AMSI 'The Improving Mathematics Education in Schools (TIMES) project' is for teachers who wish to consolidate and extend their content knowledge on the topic of probability, and the concepts of two-step problems and estimating probabilities from large data sets. There are sections that provide history and context for the topics, as well as exercises and examples of how to present and explain the concepts to students.

ACMSP225
List all outcomes for two-step chance experiments, both with and without replacement using tree diagrams or arrays. Assign probabilities to outcomes and determine probabilities for events
ACMSP226
Calculate relative frequencies from given or collected data to estimate probabilities of events involving 'and' or 'or'
ACMSP227
Investigate reports of surveys in digital media and elsewhere for information on how data were obtained to estimate population means and medians
